Case study
Android App
Contact-Manager
Free contact management app for Android. Organize contacts with notes, files, and links. Clean, responsive contact manager with search, edit, and backup features. APK available for download.

The problem
Native Android contact apps are locked to the phone's ecosystem and lack features like file attachments, rich notes, or offline web access. Users wanted a cross-platform alternative they actually own.
The solution
Built a Progressive Web App with a React + TypeScript frontend and Tailwind CSS, published simultaneously as an Android APK via Capacitor. Local storage with JSON export/import ensures users control their data entirely.
Outcome
Available as a web app (contact-manager-rnr.vercel.app) and an installable Android APK. Features advanced search, tag filtering, file attachments, and dark mode. Used by early testers across Android and desktop browsers.
What I learned
PWA caching strategies are nuanced — a bad service worker can serve stale data indefinitely. Learned to implement a network-first cache strategy for dynamic content. Would add end-to-end encrypted cloud sync as an opt-in feature in v2.
